CoreGuard Antivirus 2009 is a bogus anti-spyware application. The rogue uses slightly different approach comparing with other fake spyware removers. It tries to uninstall legitimate security-related programs that are already installed on the system. CoreGuard Antivirus 2009 claims that it has detected unauthorized antivirus software and recommends user to remove it from the system, because it may conflict with CoreGusard Antivirus 2009. It may attempt to uninstall MalwareBytes’ Anti-malware, Norton Internet Security, F-Secure, NOD32, Avast and others.
Once active, CoreGuard Antivirus 2009 is configured to start automatically every time computer loads. Then it performs fake system scan and reports numerous bogus infections and unauthorized activities that won’t be removed until user purchases the program. However, all those infections are fake and must be ignored. You should also ignore fake security alerts produced by this rogue. Here’s an examples of a fake alert that you may see:
“User’s activity loggers detected!

Virus Melts is another rogue security software, fake spyware remover that uses deceptive means for installation and misleading system scan methods in order to scare the user into purchasing this absolutely worthless program. We have wrote recently about Virus Melt, which is also a rogue anti-spyware application, so Virus Melts is probably just a rename of it.
Usually, Virus Melts is advertised through the use of Trojans or other fake software. It is also advertised on various malicious websites. Once Virus Melts is installed and active, it automatically runs fake computer scan and displays various bogus infections. It can also state that system security might be compromised and suggest to purchase Virus Melts in order to remove those infections and to ensure full system protection. However, VirusMelts is a scam and cannot be trusted. Those infections of course are all fake. The only infection that actually exists is Virus Melts itself. Malware Doctor also known as Malware Doc is a typical rogue security tool. Malware Doctor tends to offer computer security services for a certain fee. However, Malware Doctor is not a real anti-spyware application, this rogue only mimics reliable security tools. Malware Doctor enters the system without user’s permission and knowledge usually through the use of trojan Vundo. The main goal of this parasite is to promote paid version of Malware Doctor.
Once MalwareDoctor is installed and active, it performs fake system scan and reports various bogus results, mainly to inform the user that his computer is seriously infected with malware, spyware and other parasites. Thereupon, the rogue offers to buy a full version of Malware Doctor. Nevertheless, Malware Doctor won’t be able to remove those infections, simply because it wasn’t designed to do so. What is more, it will then continue to perform misleading actions once more. Needless to say that Malware Doctor should be removed form the system at the earliest stage. Antivirus XP Pro 2009 is a rogue anti-spyware application. Probably, it’s a new variant of notorious antispyware application called Antivirus 2009 or Antivirus XP 2009. AntiSpyware Protector is another application that was designed to damage computers and scare users in order to steal money from them. It is advertised as spyware remover, but actually it’s a rogue anti-spyware program which infiltrates into user’s PC without his approval or knowledge. As many other fake spyware removers, AntiSpywareProtector shows pop-up windows and alerts with misleading information about system infections and privacy issues. However, this parasite also uses more aggressive scaring tactics. If user waits too long and hesitates to remove this rogue he unknowingly puts important files at risk. In worst situation AntiSpyware Protector can even crash operating system.
It’s not a great idea to purchase a license of this parasite, because it won’t remove those problems as it claims after fake scan. In this case AntiSpyware Protector is an infection itself and must be removed without any further consideration.
